Krystal Cavanagh
A seasoned expert, Lindsay is equipped with a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) designation and a distinguished diploma in Disaster and Emergency Management (DEM) with honors from NAIT, complemented by ongoing pursuit of a Master of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management from Royal Roads University, set to graduate in 2026.
Skilled in project management, communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement, proficiently utilizing waterfall and agile methodologies. Directs the sustainment and operational readiness of NAIT’s comprehensive EMBC program across 21 continuity areas, ensuring institutional resilience and preparedness against potential crises.
Expertise includes designing, training, and maintaining business continuity plans, alongside conducting risk assessment, mitigation planning, process improvement, sustainability strategies, and change management.
Passionate about community resilience, actively supports local businesses in enhancing their disruption resilience and collaborates with municipalities to minimize local vulnerabilities. Advocates for lifelong learning, emphasizing the pivotal roles of education, innovation, and research in advancing disaster preparedness and mitigation efforts at local, provincial, national, and international levels.

Krystal is a certified Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) through the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) and holds a Master of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management. She brings nearly two decades of frontline experience as a Paramedic and over four years in Emergency Management, giving her a deep operational understanding of preparedness, coordinated response, and organizational resilience.
Krystal specializes in building effective emergency management programs, strengthening interagency collaboration, and enhancing readiness across diverse sectors. Her expertise includes developing practical, evidence‑based emergency response plans and designing meaningful training and exercise programs. Colleagues know her for her drive, collaborative style, and ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable strategies.
Driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, public safety, and strong partnerships, Krystal integrates hands‑on operational experience with a comprehensive emergency management perspective to deliver sustainable, impactful results.
